**7th grade Math Curriculum Map 2011-2012**There are three levels of math in the seventh grade. Each class covers similar material at different levels and times. All of the Common Core Standards are intertwined each month in the lessons. Labs and projects go into more while classroom discussion focuses more on and its components. Common core:

**Solve real-life and mathematical problems involving angle measure, area, surface area, and volume.**

**Statistics and Probability:**

**Use random sampling to draw inferences about a population.**

**Draw informal comparative inferences about two populations.**

**Investigate chance processes and develop, use, and evaluate probability models.**

**Projects:**All of the classes do the same projects but scheduled at different times.

**Percent Project:**“Not a Penny more, Not a Penny Less” Apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers.

Platonic Solid: Draw construct, and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationships between them. Creative string art.

**Labs:**The labs give the students opportunities to explore various topics in more depth and to work cooperatively with classmates. Not all groups do the same Labs. Many of the labs emphasize mathematical reasoning.
