Grading
The grade is based on the percent of points earned in any given trimester.
Points are received for the following:
• Class Notes- Graded every couple of weeks
• Homework - Students will do work in a log book. They will be assigned odd problems
for practice - maximum of 10. Since answers are in the back of the book students
need to self correct and identify the error in an incorrect problem.
• Homework concept check - Students will have problem concept checks at least twice a
week. These problems will come form the even problems on pages already assigned.
• Quizzes - Different from concept checks. Vocabulary and rule based.
• Projects - The points varies according to the project
• Math Reflections - Twice a trimester the students will reflect on their progress as a
math student, areas of growth, challenges, and a demonstration of a topic covered.
• Exam - These usually take place every two weeks on a Friday. Test preparation
material will be available on line the Monday prior to an exam.

Academic Integrity
Students often seek another classmate's assistance with math homework. The operative word here is ASSISTANCE not copying another's answers. If a student is discovered copying from another, both parties will receive a zero grade and the lack of academic integrity will be documented. The students will be required to stay after school to demonstrate their understanding of the assignment.
